Pads for Gals: Where Dey At!?

It’s unfortunate that an article has to be written about this. Of the 6500 and more students at Vanier College, just about half of them are females who menstruate on a monthly basis. Newsflash: menstruation, for most females, is unavoidable. Meaning, we bleed whether we like it or not. Our flows vary, the duration of our periods vary, and the pain we experience vary. This brings us to the question:

WHERE ARE THE PADS?

If not pads…

WHERE ARE THE TAMPONS?

Vanier College provides condoms for free but period products are nowhere to be seen in the female bathrooms.

Sex, for the most part, is an avoidable occurrence. The average teenaged-female’s period IS NOT.

On the bright side, the VCSA sometimes offers little packages of tampons in their office for girls to take which is a good start. But what needs to be done next is to install free tampon and pad dispensers in EVERY female bathroom. By providing them for free in the female school bathrooms, it will eliminate the potential feeling of embarrassment if a girl were to ask a friend or stranger for a pad or tampon that might not last her the day or match where she is in her flow.

Not to mention how important it is for females to feel secure in their place of study.

If the guys can get their condoms, the girls should get their pads and tampons!

We have now come to the end of this article. HOWEVER, we have just

begun a movement. If you believe that Vanier College should provide

free tampons and pads in the female bathrooms, please click the link below:
