Vanier College is pleased to announce that it will be hosting a federal election debate on Wednesday September 16th 2015 between 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. The debate will be held in the Vanier College Auditorium (A-103), located at 821 St. Croix Avenue in the borough of St. Laurent.

“This is a historic election and I am very pleased that members of the Vanier College community will have a forum where they will be able to hear where the parties stand on all the different issues that are on the minds of voters,” said Michele Ricci, Academics Coordinator for the Vanier College Students Association.

The debate will be moderated by Montreal political commentator Dan Delmar who contributes to the National Post and CJAD radio.

The debate participants are:

New Democratic Party: Mr. Jim Hughes, candidate in the riding of Notre-Dame-De-Grâce-Westmount;

Bloc Québécois: Mr. Mario Beaulieu, Party President and candidate in riding of La Pointe-de-l’Île;

Liberal Party of Canada: Mr. Stéphane Dion, Member of Parliament and candidate in the riding of Saint Laurent-Cartierville;

Green Party of Canada: Mr. Daniel Green, Deputy Leader of the party and candidate in riding of Ville-Marie-Le Sud-Ouest–Île-des-Sœurs.

Conservative Party of Canada: Rodolphe Husny, candidate in the riding of Outremont.

“It is a great honour for Vanier to host this debate. It will allow for a discussion in a democratic and transparent fashion. It will also hopefully help members of the college community to learn more about the party platforms as well as the challenges we are facing in the coming years,” said Mr. Normand W. Bernier, Director General of Vanier College.
